Lowest Price Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025
One hot day in September, I ordered the Toro 1800 Snow Thrower, then prayed for snow. I got my wish, and then some. I had every confidence that it would work well, but it has performed well above my expectations. Once I figured out the length of the electric cord, and how to maneuver around it, clearing the snow from my driveway was easy. Even better, it was fun - and fast. I need a little more practice with directing the snow, especially with a wind blowing. Still, very pleased with the product.

Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025 Right now
It worked well, for about 20 minutes, then stopped throwing snow, although the motor still ran. I was operating it on a newly paved, smooth driveway, with less than 3" of snow. I also had trouble keeping it plugged in, even though I was using a brand new cord.
When I called Toro, I was informed that they would only cover the product if it was their manufacturing defect & not a "maintenance issue", as determined by the repair center. According to them, just because it broke the first time it was used didn't mean it was their fault or their responsiility. (It wasn't a slipped belt.) I bought Toro in part because I mistakenly thought they were a solid brand which stood by their products.Get more detail about Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025.

I recently purchased the 1800 power thrower from Amazon.
I kept it in the box for 30 days before I opened it on the first snow storm of the season. The snow thrower moved about six feet of 3 inch snow very well, then it died. The drive belt was destroyed by the unit. Toro service policy is the worst I have ever seen. Toro supplied me with an independent service shop in my area. The only trouble is that they don't work on electric snow throwers. Toro then said I could mail the unit back to them at my expense. Lessons learned..buy local and don't buy from Toro. I wasted $299.Get more detail about Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025.

This product does what it does well. If you know you want an electric snowthrower and not electric, this one is a reasonable choice (home depot for $288).
Some electric vs gas items: 1) you don't need to worry about it starting or not 2) it is NOT self-propelled, so in heavier snows more than 6 inches, the effort to push through the snow starts to increase. So if you're going to get a foot of snow, clearing 6 inches twice will be much easier. 3) an interesting way to use this machine (documented in the manual) is to use the two handles and pick it up and cut down taller snow banks (like at the end of a driveway after a plow has gone by) in a sort of scything motion. Interesting alternative to buying a huge gas powered one so it has enough power to hack down the pile.
I had one difficulty in the minor bit of assembly required -- it appears the bolt are too long, so that the locknuts don't screw onto them as far as they should. Toro was very nice on the phone, and will send out some new bolts and also a new chute discharge (plastic) so I can make it perfect. Good customer service.Get more detail about Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025.

I just tried it out for the first time, and it was a breeze...made clearing my driveway almost fun. It was wet slushy snow, and I was wondering about how well the plastic blades would fare against the cement driveway, but they did a great job.
One issue is with the assembly...when putting the chute together, the metal screws in the plastic fitting don't hold the screw tight enough for you to screw the nut on all the way...it slips in the plastic enclosure, so you are stuck sending the snow straight up and away as opposed to being able to change the height that the snow goes...
This is a minor thing though, because ultimately who cares...I can direct the snow any direction I want, I just can't change the trajectory.Get more detail about Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025.

Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025 Immediately
I live in New Hampshire and have battled some of the toughest snow storms. My truck plow handles things pretty well but I found I needed another tool to add to my arsenal. I went with this Toro. Here in NH we can get some very heavy snows. My little Toro handles them all very well. It is rated to 10 inches, but I have used it in 25-28 inches. Sure it takes a little longer, and doesn't cut as wide a swatch as my neighbor's giant stinky gas-powered beast, but my Toro more than makes up for it. I can easily lift it up onto my deck and quickly clear that; my wife is able to lift the thrower and use it; it is very easily transported, and is a joy to use. Some have commented that the cord gets in the way. Yes, it does but go buy a gas-powered unit if you don't want the convenience of electrical. I don't have to mix fuel, or scream and yell at it, trying to start it up on a cold winter day. I just plug in and away I go.
I would highly recommend this to everyone - especially senior citizens who do not want to push around a heavier thrower. It'll do the job.Get more detail about Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025.

First of all, lower gauge wire translates to higher load bearing capacity, i.e., the lower the gauge, the better.
Second, this baby may throw bone dry snow 30 feet in a favorable breeze, but you'll be lucky to get wet snow more than six.
Third, this model does a one easy pass job on 10 inches of snow, but if you have more than 50 feet of driveway to do, you'll probably want more power for heavier snowfalls.
Fourth, it will handle slush, but it won't break solid ice. If you try to make it, you'll probably break it.Get more detail about Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025.

Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025
We got about 5 inches of snow last Friday, and when I went out and I saw that is was becoming ice. Immediately it came to my mind that I will have to shawel because there was not way the blower made out of plastic could handle that tick layer of ice. But I tried and I couldn't believe it, it took all the ice in a blink of eyes, and it was so easy that I not only did my whole drive way (I live in a corner), but I did my neighbor (a nice lady around 65 years old). I felt like a Super Hero when she thanked me. The next day it ended snowing around 7 pm, and the snow become heavier ice so hard that my 250 pounds could now smash the pices of ice when I stood on it. So I repeated to myself , this machine is good but can't do miracles. I tried again and it took all the ice as well, except for a litle part between the street and the driway by the sewer because with the cars passing over it , it become compacted ice. Highly recommended.Get more detail about Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025.

I got the last one Home Depot had before the snow started. And I am so glad I did. I live in Northern Va. We had our first two snows of the year. One of those heavy wet snows that Doctors tell us 63 year olds to avoid. Total snowfall 10 inches. I live in a townhouse, but with a lot of sidewalk (40 feet X 8 feet wide) plus two parking spaces and a patio. Now, with this machine (It dosent look like much when it's delivered.) I did the entire thing in 30mins which includes a little break. It did'nt throw slushy snow 30 feet but it threw it a heck of a lot farther than I could with a shovel. I believe it would throw fluffy snow 30 feet. Cord is a hassle, but something has to be( but no rope to pull or carburators to fool with or gasoline to store. I don't have a garage.) It weighs about 25 lbs, easy to carry and store. A job that used to take all morning ( with numerous rests now is over in 30mins. When I was 40 I would have laughed at a snow blower, but now, at 63 I am delighted.Get more detail about Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025.

Works very well in up to about 4-6 inches of light snow, bogs down in anything heavier and in drifts. You need to take narrower passes than with a gas snow blower, so it takes more time to clear a driveway. Given the convenience of an electric motor and the price, it's a great bargain if you don't regularly get a lot of snow and don't mind being tethered by a power cord. Great value and it did what it promised. Compact, light weight, no maintenance, and always started. After last President's Day snow, I decided never to break my back again. Looked around for a snow thrower. Most everything was expensive gas-powered lawn-mower size machines. In this part of Maryland we don't get that many snow storms and I have only a 30 feet 2-car drive-way. So, I wasn't willing to spend that much for using 5 or 6 times a year. This is under $300 and has sufficient power to get me out of the house in 15 minutes, including few extra minutes for untangling the extension chord (not included), clearing about 4-5 inches this morning. Cheap Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025
I have a 50 foot driveway and first thing this AM I moved 8 inches of very heavy wet snow and this little Toro was great. It had a problem making the first swath full width but once I had a path, just let this little gem do it's thing. Taking about 1/2 swath, it blew this heavy snow about 8 to 10 feet. Taking partial swaths didn't make the snow removal faster but it sure was easier that a shovel. Just now I went back out and move another 4 inches and no problem at all and it's even wetter than before. No gas engine to start, light enough to use it on my deck and steps. Great little snow blower.Get more detail about Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025.

Wonderful for decks and porch roofs. Able to stick it out the window onto roof easily! Since I only ordered it after this years blizzard most of the snow was crusty ice. Still it worked!
Although most of it appears to be made out of plastic the ice did not even scratch it and I was willing to sacrifice the machine to save the roof so I was not going easy on it. I am now well prepared for future winter storms.
Used it on a later snow, wet heavy, and it swept the decks clean!Get more detail about Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025.

Lowest Price Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025
I live in the Greater Boston area and got the Toro Powercurve for my driveway. The snow blower is just right for the amount of snow that we get here. For other regions which have more snow, maybe more than the 2 feet that is the normal maximum for this place, a bigger one may be needed.
For upto 2 feet of snow this is good. What I did like is the easy setup, the instant start, long throw distance, the amount of power that is available (for the $$) and the ease of storage.
What is most annoying is the cable getting in the way. Would probably be asking for too much if I asked for a "cordless" blower though. My best advise on this would be to not buy a cable that is longer than your needs. My driveway is pretty short about 40 feet. I made the mistake of buying a 100 feet cable which is totally unnecessary - its a hassle to move the coil of wire around. 40 or 50 feet would have been great.
Things that can be improved:
1) A 30 or 40 foot cable could have been bundled.
2) The wheels are not too good and can be improved. They are almost useless in snow.
3) Could have been a little less heavy. Not that its too heavy; however its heavier than a snow-rake or shovel.
The most difficult part of snow removal is the edge-of-the- driveway-snow-dumped-there-by-the-city-snow-plough. This forms into a hard mass usually mixed with sand, stones and other dirt. This, the Toro does not easily remove. I had to manually shovel this. DO NOT expect the Toro Powercurve to remove this. You need a more powerful blower to remove the hardened snow.
In places with heavier snow, this may be used as a second blower possibly for the deck or sidewalk where carrying the larger behmoths would be difficult.Get more detail about Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025.

I live in Northern Virginia, and we don't get a lot of snow...until this year! After the Presidents Day storm I decided to get a snow blower. I was going to get a big gasoline model, but after reading the reviews here I decided to try the Toro. It shipped the same day I ordered it from Amazon, and although the estimate was 5-9 days for shipping, it arrived by UPS in 4 days, just in time for another 5-6 inches. Read all the other reviews, they are all true. The Toro 1800 works great. The only hassle in the cord, but you get use to that. The light weight, not having to worry about gas, maintanence, easy to store, etc. all make up for it being a corded snowblower. I just did my walk and driveway, as well as 5 of my neighbors. Just on the good will I now have, it has paid for itself. Thanks Amazon, Toro and UPS!Get more detail about Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025.

This snow thrower is awesome! We bought it late last year, never thinking we'd have the amount of snow this year has brought. It worked like a charm clearing away the snow from President's Weekend. I used it twice on the Sunday and most of the day on Monday so I wasn't trying to plow through over 2 feet of snow at once. I used it to clear my elderly neighbors' driveway, helped a next door neighbor with his driveway, and then I started clearing the street in front of our house so we could get out while we waited for the county to plow! I have several grateful neighbors and many envious ones as well. I tend to have problems with my back, but I wasn't sore at all after using the snow thrower! The cord can be a minor nuisance, but I much prefer that to having to fool with mixing oil and gas.Get more detail about Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025.

I have carpel tunnel syndrome and RTS, so I can't shovel. A snow blower was an obvious choice, but I was also concerned about a big vibrating machine. The lawn mower vibrations hurt my wrists also. I was on a mission to find a light, easy to use, powerful snow blower when I came across the 38025. When I received it, I'll admit I thought it may have been a bit cheaper in construction than I wanted.
But in the month that I've had it, I used it about 8 times, and it has *far* exceeded my expectations. It is light enough to lift and use that even my tired wrist don't complain. It is quiet enough to have a conversation while using. It doesn't smell since it's electric. And it has more power than I expected. I'm extremely happy with it and would recommend this to any one with the following caveats:
It's only 12" tall, so if you get a lot of snow, you either have to go out ever 8" of snow fall and throw it, or get a bigger machine.
The power cord can take a bit of getting use to, and the connection to the machine is a bit untrustworthy. But fix both of these with a extra long bright power cord, and some tape to hold the correct plug on.

this thing hangs on the garage wall, doesn't rust, always starts, is easy to handle, is cheaper than anything else on the market and works great in all new snow. If the snow is crusted it doesn't work well. We just finished with over 2 feet of snow. I did my drive 4 times before the snow finished and blew the snow 25 feet as claimed. It blew it from the upwind to the downwind side of the drive. When the plow came to get the road, I used this machine to get into the 4 foot drifts. I had to use a shovel to break down the sides and then this thing ate up the snow and threw it over the drift. If I didn't use the shovel I picked up the blower and used it like a rake. IT IS LIGHT.
you do need to have a cord, the bigger gauge the better. the cord can get in your way, so you need to watch for the cord. the blower will eat or at least stall on a cord, but the hard plastic won't cut it.
YOU DON'T HAVE TO START THIS THING WHEN IT'S COLD.

I find the 1800 Power Curve to be just the right thing for a home owner with a lot of area to clear. The ability to clear a one foot snow fall is very easy if it is light and fluffy but it gets tougher if you wait and the snow gets wet and icy. I can clear a 150 foot long 15 feet wide drive with a 20 by 20 foot parking area in one hour after a one foot snow fall. No gas to keep on hand and no fumes to breath. I didnt want to be bothered with storing and caring for a gasolene powered snow blower since it doesnt usually snow much here in Delaware. This seemed perfect. It has worked very well for two small 3-6 inch storms and now it even worked well in this "presidents day storm" of over two feet. I made sure to go out before it got too deep, so I ended up doing my 4 to 6 car driveway twice. Even when the snow is too deep for it, it is easy to lift up and eat away at the snow in several layers. I doubt that it would hold up to many storms like this but so far it has worked well and there are no signs of damage or wear.Get more detail about Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025.

Absolutely does the its thing most of the time in typical metro NYC winters. Does a nice job provided there is less than six inches on the ground. Anything more and you have to play with it, like by tippng back the handle to seesaw the unit up. If you live in a particularly snowy region consider a larger machine.
The Toro is reasonably priced but I would highly recommend a least a 50 foot heavy duty extension cord. I actually could probably use a 100 footer.Get more detail about Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025.

We typically get 3-6" of snow in the DC area (when it does snow). I have a 2-car driveway, and I have to clear the street area in front of my mailbox for my mail-delivery person also. Using a shovel, it would take me 45-60 minutes. With this unit, I have it finished in 11 minutes. It does throw snow about 25-30 feet. I would not recommend it for anything over 12" deep. I live on Long Island in New York, Typically our winters are one or two storms about 6 to 8 inches of snow. Most times it is only 2 to 4 inches per snowfall. This baby performs great! Blows the snow right off my property. I have a 4 car driveway and almost 260 feet of sidewalk that is 4 feet wide. Less than one hour and I am finished, right down to the pavement. Don't get lead to believe you need anything bigger. When it snows nobody waits for the storm to be over, you go out when it is at least 3-4 inches and clear everything! You only have to look at this 25 pound wonder to know its not a heavy duty snow blower. So don't think it is going to do the job of a huge gas powered rig.
Having said that - I have a 50ft two car wide driveway. It flings 5 inches of snow off that driveway in 10 to 15 min. I love it. I cant wait for more snow. It should have no problem with a foot of snow. its like a high powered snow vacume
You just plug it in and go. No gas, no spark plugs, no oil, no tune up. I am often done before the neighbor has cussed enough to get his gas monster (with head lights) running. I have full confidence in this rig.
I liked mine so much I purchased one ...for my brother...I have read people who are concerned with the power of an electric. The Toro has plenty of power and higher RPMs than a gas thrower. No blower works great in all condition. However in the snow we have had here in northern NJ it has no problem throwing snow 20 to 30 feet. I highly recommend this thrower. It is better than throwers in its class that and a little larger. But its not a match for a big rig. I have read some complain about small wheels. The wheels are just fine thank you! This blower will blow snow like crazy but It is not up to punching through the plow wall. I break up the plow wall with a shovel then blow it away. I calculate several inches of snow on my driveway weighs about 40 tousand pounds. This blower moves almost all of that and saves your back and heart for having fun in the snow.

Amazing machine. I get more use out of this than most of my other appliances, no kidding! Living in St. Paul, Minnesota, you end up having a lot of snow. My driveway and walkways are never covered as I use this get rid of it quickly, safely, and efficientley. The instructions are a bit of a hassle as you have to wade through all of the other languages, however that is expected. The instructions are clear and it's easy to be off and running in no time! Great warranty provided as well. For the money you cannot go wrong, and it saves your back and shoulders from shoveling. That in mind, it also saves you TIME!Get more detail about Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025.

Purchased snow blower and used it this past winter. It worked very well, even in fairly deep snow. Very good for a small driveway, and also compact enough to get past cars in the driveway. Easy to use and meneuver and threw the snow a good distance. Get more detail about Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025.
Cheapest Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025
Friends warned me against an electric snow thrower. Better to get a gas engine, they said ... you don't have to deal with a cord, you get more power, etc.
Bosh. This thing is fun. The cord is a very minor annoyance at most -- you get used to it early. As for power -- if you need more than this will give you, then you probably speak Inuit. Nice to meet you.

I am unable to fairly review the snow thrower at this time(June) so I have given it a neutral three. It is possible, here in Minnesota, that I may have a thorough review as early as September 10. Get more detail about Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025.
Buying Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025
I have kids so I didn't want to deal with gas, instead bought the 1800. This snow thrower is great for light to moderate weight snow up to eight inches deep. Heavier denser, wet snow would be tougher but it still gets the job done. In this condition I would shovel when it's around 4 inches.
The chute is great with 180 degree angle to throw the snow from left, right and anything in between, whichever works for you. Plus the chute has an height adjuster where if you're throwing the snow when it's really windy you could lower the throw so the snow won't blow into your face or higher up over a wood fence.
The cord doesn't bother me too much since I also mowe my grass with electric. Since it's electric I could store it in my basement with no hassle or fear with the smell/mess/storage/running out of it/fire hazzard of gas. I've been using the 1800 for atleast 10 years and have no regrets.Get more detail about Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025.

Purchase Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025
I have used my snow thrower 3 times now and it has performed better than I expected even on wet snow. Very powerful and efficient. It took me 30 minutes to clear my 60 ft driveway instead of an hour and a half with a shovel. The electric cord gets in the way as you walk away from the house but it is worth not experiencing any more back problem. Also the wheels could certainly be bigger and sturdier but overall I would recommend this product for anybody who does not want to use a gaz snow blower.Get more detail about Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025.

Today it snowed about three inches and this little blower did a great job. It left the concrete very clean, the cord was not a problem, and the wheels were adequate. It blew the snow about 8 feet so it does not have the longest throw. Where the snow was taller, say 6 inches, the snow guide had a tendency to rotate back to center so you have to watch that.
So for light snow's I'd say this unit is absolutely fantastic. For snow over 6 inches it would probably be ok but would require a little more work to keep that guide on track.Get more detail about Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025.

Where To Buy Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025
I bought this for my husband as a Christmas gift. It arrived on Thursday...one day before our HUGE snowstorm here in WI! In this area we got 10" of what they call 'heart attack snow' because it is heavy and wet. When I went out and uncovered the box with a MERRY CHRISTMAS he just said 'is it gas or electric?" I said 'electric' and he took it out of the box and then just went out and continued HAND shoveling the driveway. I was very disappointed in his reaction. Now granted it would NOT have been able to cut through the 4 FEET of snow at the end of the driveway from the snowplows going thru but I thought it would have done the rest. Well today he decided to finish all the sidewalks and driveway. We didn't have enough length of cord to do all the sidewalks as we live on a corner lot. He rather 'reluctantly' took the snow blower out to do the sidewalk...I think to just apease me and you should have seen his face when he barely touched the button to start and away it went. His face just LIT UP!! THEN he had to show me how it got right down to the sidewalk, and all he had to do was 'touch the button' and 'look at chute take that snow.' And on and on. When he stopped for a second he said 'I REALLY didn't think this was going to do anything on THIS snow.! Like I said we got 10" and it zipped that off the sidewalks in no time! He is ONE HAPPY CAMPER right now!! THANK YOU for this great snow thrower!! LOVE IT and LOVE that it takes the stress off his back!

I was real skeptical of an electric snowblower. But I went with this because it was cheaper, smaller (easier to store), lighter (I can hang it to store it and my wife can easily use it). Then 1 week after I bought it, and while out of town, we got 10" of snow overnight. I came back a few days later and had to try this thing for the first time:
Wow. This thing really cleared quickly and easily and down to the cement. Now its not as fast as others but thats expected. Also, I had snow drifts that were about 2 feet high. This has a handle on the front (and its light) so that you can operate it like a shovel and 'skim' the top of snow banks, steps, etc
But a couple of downsides to consider: The cord is a bit of a pain do deal with, the snow direction thing move a bit on its own which can get annoying, the weels are cheap plastic.
All in all I'm really surprised by the power and ability of this small thing. I paid $300 and would do it again in a heartbeat. Get more detail about Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025.
