I just assembled this snowthrower and gave it a try. It works better than I ever could have expected. I live in Canada and have a large gas snow blower for the driveway, but my deck can accumulate 3 feet of snow several times during the winter. That much weight can cause decks to collapse, so snow removal is a must. If I could get the gas blower on the deck, it would chew up the wood so shoveling is the only solution ....until now! I used the Toro 1800 on about a foot of snow and it performed flawlessly, throwing the snow about 30 feet and cleaning the deck right down to the wood planks. My 16' x 16' deck took less than 5 minutes to clear. Anything that make winter easier has my vote and the Toro 1800 didn't disappoint. I wouldn't want to try to clear the end of my driveway after the plow deposits 3 feet of snow in it, but that's not what this machine is designed for.
