Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025

I have only used it a total of 1 hour and its already thrown the belt 3 times. The first day I had the machine I was only able to make 2 passed before it threw the belt. I thought maybe it had somehow come loose during shipping...and it only takes about 5 minutes to put the belt back on...so I didnt think anything of it. After that, I was able to use it to clear my driveway, sidewalk and back porch (took about 30 minutes) and it worked fine.

Well, we got about 5 inches of snow (not wet snow) overnight so took it out this morning to clear the driveway and sidewalk again. It worked for about 30 minutes before the belt came off again. Since I was almost done, I didnt want to haggle with the belt so did the rest of the sidewalk by hand.

I decided I'd do the back porch a couple of hours ago so I put the belt back on. I was able to use it about 2 minutes before the belt came off again. Like my headline states - this snow thrower works great when the belt stays on, but if I'm going to have to take the time to put it on every time I use it then it just isnt worth my time (and money!). Think I'm gonna return it.

One thing I noticed is that the idler arm doesnt seem to put enough tension on the belt. This is because the idler spring doesnt seem to be strong enough to pull the idler arm to force the required tension. Get more detail about Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025.
