I never had a blower before and I did not want to hassle with gas etc. I use electric lawn tools so I am well acquainted with electric cords. I was a bit concerned because some of the reviews hinted that it was light and could handle only a couple of inches. This is my third year with this blower and I have been absolutely amazed at this little machine. You won't believe how far it shoots the snow. Living in Michigan, I get wet, deep, and powder. 8 to 10 inches is the deepest I've had but it worked like a charm. I have only seen one of these blowers in use besides my own and the only thing I can think of is that people must be concerned that there isn't enough power. I know nothing about cordless but it is really nothing to plugging in a 100' cord and leaving it plugged in for the winter. Takes up little space and easily carried to the basement in the off winter time. I kind of miss the shovelling for exercise but this little dynamo really saves a lot of time.
