We used the 12 amp Toro 1800 this weekend with two snowfalls. No gas to worry about mixing. No smoke or fumes. I plugged it in and off I went on my paved driveway. It's designed for paved surfaces. It is very light so I directed it with one hand and kept track of the cord with the other. It plowed through 5 inches of snow with ease. Turning the chute to direct where the snow should be blown is a feather touch. My wife thought we should have kept our old gas unit but after seeing this one do its job she's convinced this is a very good product. Benefits: no gas to store; plug in and go; lightweight; noise is less than with gas unit; easy to learn how to start from a point nearest the plug and then outward. Feels like toy but works like a serious machine. Cons: assembly requires a little patience and strong hands. I have arthritis but I got it completed in an hour. PS: the box is intelligently designed so the unit rolls out on its wheels. No lifting is required to get it out of the shipping carton.
