I purchased the Toro 1800 to supplement my 11 hp, 30" Sears power snow blower. Quite frankly, it's replaced it! It was a snap to assemble. This lightweight machine glides through the snow almost like a floor buffer - forward and backward, left to right. Whereas the power blower sets the speed by the transmission, the Toro 1800 operates at whatever speed you decide to walk (or run). It cleans right down to the pavement and has no problem throwing snow well beyond the width of my large driveway.
The ONLY caution is to plan ahead so that you have good cord management; being careful not to run over your cord. I recommend starting down one side of your driveway lengthwise - always blowing the snow in the same direction. This will keep the cord on the same side at all times. It's easy to change the chute direction when you turn around. I would recommend the Toro 1800 to anyone. Quite frankly, it's fun and easy to clear our driveway and walkways.
