Low Price Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025

Even the most skeptical of my friends were quickly silenced when they saw this thrower in action....

Two huge storms hit UT dropping over a foot of snow each and I easily cleared my driveway and sidewalks with this wonder. I was amazed that it would actually clear the snow all the way to the concrete with no effort at all! It's easy to push, turn and clean off when you're done.

Some reviews mentioned the wheels as a problem, but I think they work just fine. Since the Toro clears away all the snow in front of them, the wheels fuction more like guides anyway.

As far as the comments about the cord becoming unplugged....well the manufacturer tells you in the instructions to loop the cord through the opening on the opposite side and tie the cord in place. I did just that and I never had a problem with the cord coming out during use.

The only downside is of course having to deal with the cord. If you have an extra long driveway (>100 ft), or your sidewalks are far from an outlet, the Toro may not be for you. As for the rest of you out there, buy this bad boy then sit back and watch the snow fly. You'll finally look forward to winter storms instead of dreading all the shoveling!! This unit is light weight and clears my deck and patio fast. I wouldn't use it to clear a long driveway, but I have a large Ariens snow blower to take care of that.Get more detail about Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025.

Overall its a good litter snowblower. Does the job quickly with little effort. We have had a very heavy snowfall this year, and this machine has handled even the heavy wet chunks at the bottom of our average suburban driveway. I would buy again.
Pros- lightweight
- no need for gas or refueling
- mimimal parts that can break.
- even my 12 year old diva daughter can handle this machine with ease.
- no need for routine service, at the end of the year, I will simply hang it up in the shed and wait for next year's snow.

Cons- need to work around a long frozen extension cord, which we fight with to wind up at the end of each use- this is the worst part of this machine.
- plastic rotor blade will probally need to be replaced in the next year or so from wearing down or the edges chipping
- screws attaching the directional chute to the body of the blower, had to be replaced with a longer screw and wing nut, to provide a tight fit. The factory supplied screws did not tighten well causing the chute to blow upwards. In fact, one of the factory supplied screws blew off initially.
- You have to tilt the machine forward to get the blade close enough to clear to the pavement. (but is easy to do)
- I dont think the plastic blades could clear large hard frozen chunks- some judgement is needed.
I think the machine would strain if it had to remove greater than 6 inches at a time, Since machine is so easy to use, we cleared our driveway more frequently, and it went quickly.Get more detail about Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025.

Cheapest Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025

I decided to give this snowblower a shot since there were a lot more positive reviews than negative. Not a good idea. Obviously a lot of people have had good experiences with it, but at least read the negative reviews in more detail before making up your mind.

It seems that a lot of the people who don't like it have had the same problem. The belt won't stay on in even light snow and tightening parts to try and solve the problem on your own seems a little bit like sticking your finger in the hole to stop the dam from bursting. The problem will probably come back or something worse will happen.

It sounds like about 1/5 of these are lemons, so if you like those odds, go for it. Just be prepared if you're that unlucky one like I was. It makes shoveling for an hour and a half even more agravating when you thought you weren't going to have to anymore.Get more detail about Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025.
