This machine is a waste of money. When it's working, it actually throws quite a bit of snow, and does it well. The trouble is poor quality / quality control. Mine not just threw a belt the first time I used it -- it completely shredded it. Read the customer discussions regarding this issue. The problem is poor quality control and assembly. I replaced the belt, and it threw the new belt immediately. I followed the tightening & adjusting tips found in the customer discussion -- it still throws the belt. Another quality issue is that the macine is so sloppily assembled that snow, ice, & grit get inside the side housing - this is what caused the belt to shred on me.
Toro's customer service stinks-- they basically refuse to acknowledge that there's a problem. When I e-mailed them regarding the shredded belt, they told me I had overloaded the machine -- I had not! The snow and ice that got inside due to poor fit and finish had ruined the belt. They said they would send me a new belt gratis and never did. After waiting three weeks, I bought a new belt myself.
