I recently purchased this snowblower for a relative, based on positive reviews from other customers and other published, expert recommendations. It was put to use for the very first time during our first severe snowstorm of the season, just before Christmas Day, 2009 (when we received nearly 2 feet of snow). The snowblower did a very adequate job within its capabilities, but clearly was not made to withstand a snowfall of that kind of accumulation (as was confirmed in previous reviews I had read). It did, however, save my father from strenuous shoveling to make pathways in smaller areas (sidewalks and parts of a long driveway). My father mentioned that his chronic back problem was not as bothersome the following day after using this product as it has been in years past from shoveling, when required.
