Bought this item three weeks ago and have had five chances (i.e. five Boston snowfalls) to use it.
The snow falls have ranged from 3 to 16 inches and from wet/heavy to dry/light snow. This unit's snow throwing ability is nothing less than amazing. Granted, the cord is a pain until you get a routine down. That said, dealing with gas/oil has its own challenges.
The one advantage I didn't consider is that the unit is so relatively light (20+ pounds vs. 200+ pounds for gas models) you can hold it like a hedge trimmer to remove snow larger than the actual height of the device.
I expected to purchase this unit as an interim solution (Amazon Prime delivered it in one day, in time for a pending storm) but now I truly believe this unit can adequately handle what Boston winter skys have typically dispensed.Get more detail about Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025.
