The snow joe is ideal for me since I have no storage space for a gas run snow blower and I am a woman. Those large snow blowers can be too heavy to push. I like the Snow Joe because it is lightweight and electric so it is great for us female townhouse dwellers! I do not see any difference in the remanufactured Snow Joe and the new one. My mother bought a new one somewhere else and paid twice the price.
