They were predicting 3-6 inches of snow south of Denver for the weekend. My two year old gas powered 5 HP Honda (which I bought because of it's supposed durability) had been in the repair shop for two weeks and wouldn't be ready for another week because of the repair shop backlog.

I wasn't looking forward to shoveling again, so I read all the great reviews of the Toro 1800 on Amazon.

I ordered it Friday night after the deadline for second day air shipments. I was amazed that it was delivered to my house on Monday morning at 9:10 AM! This was two days earlier than I expected it. I couldn't be happier or more impressed with both Amazon and DHL.

The Toro handled the 4 inches that were on the Driveway Monday morning, and also cleared some small 10 inch drifts. It threw the snow just as far as my Honda 5 HP gas snowblower. If it threw it any further my neighbors would be upset because it would be going onto their driveways and sidewalks. In other words, it threw it just the right distance for my driveway and sidewalks. I have a two car wide driveway which is about 80 feet long.

Right now I see no reason why I shouldn't sell my gas model. I definitely plan to keep the Toro electric because it's so much easier to use and maintain. The Toro electric has plenty of power and does just as well as the gas powered Honda 5 HP.

This lightweight machine was simple to put together and wonderfully easy to manuever. Since I am handicapped I found it very easy to handle. The one thing I do have a problem with is the handlebar. It seems the only way to move the thrower around without engaging the motor is by grabbing it by the midbar (below the handlebar) which is somewhat difficult, otherwise, the motor starts and you accidentally run over the power cord and it jambs the blade. I bought this blower today after 3 weekends of snow. I have used gas powered units and for what I have to shovel they are just to big. This unit is very capable of moveing 10 to 12 inches with now problems. I wish I had this unit long before now. If anyone has doubts about this unit you can forget them and just buy this thrower. You will not be disapointed. The thrower is very easy to assemble, just insert 4 bolts and plug it in and enjoy.
