Snow Joe 622U 19-Inch 13 Amp Electric Snow Thrower

Auto or Emergency Shut Down:
This system worked the first time that I used it; the second day the power cord had to be pulled to shut it off!!
With puppies around, I had to be extra careful about their whereabouts!
With warmer temperatures (basement), it still does not shut off without "pulling the plug". It has sufficient power to handle significant amounts of snow to clear around fences for Border Collies!
Our normal snow thrower is a 15.5 HP Craftsman for the driveway/yard.
We also have a Snow Joe 322U for the decks.
Regards, Clair

Yard Machines 31B-040-800 Snow Fox 12.5-Inch 8.5 Amp Electric Snow Thrower

I've been using this device since December of '06 and all I can say is it's one of the best purchases I've ever made. We typically get one or two major snowfalls a year, and the Snow Fox has done the job in short order every time, hanging out-of-the-way on the wall of the garage otherwise. No messing around with gas or oil, just plug it in and away it goes. Nothing has broken for ME. I've used it on 10"+ snowfall and it works great.

We have a long driveway and steps up to a walkway to steps up to the landing for the front door. Not only does the Snow Fox blow the snow several feet forward (I'm not sure 25, but plenty), but it's easily lifted up to the walkway where, resetting the vanes with a simple twist, the Snow Fox, er, tosses the snow a bit off to one side - which is perfect, really, for the application.

I've only had two problems, which relate to the extension cord. First off the blower's plug is set within a sort of cup supposed to prevent you from plugging in the kind of cord that has a little tang on the extension cord's female plug, if you know what I mean.
Second, I occasionally run over the cord... But the great thing about the Snow Fox (I don't know how this compares to other blowers) is that whenever I run over the cord or other impedimenta in the snow (frozen wad of leaves, stick, stray piece of twine) it immediately stops, and it's easy to counter-rotate the blades and dislodge the item. And it goes right back to work, no problem!

Where *I* live, the kids don't come around with shovels after a snowfall - the guys with the plow do, and they want $100 to push a pile of snow up against the garage door and pound the rest into a slippery smear on the asphalt. This thing has repaid its cost at least twice a Winter!

Poulan PP10530ES Pro 10.5 HP 30-Inch 2 Stage Snow Thrower With Electric Start, Power Steering, And Remote Chute Deflector Control (Non-CARB Compliant)

Overall satisfied with this snowblower as what it was represented to be at a very good price. Powerful, pretty easy to use, requires a bit of muscle, gets the job done. The "rough start" refers to the fact that it arrived missing an augur pin so only one half of the augur worked on the first use, which was 18 inches of snow, making for pretty tough sledding. Figuring out the problem with the distributor was more difficult than it should have been, but once diagnosed it was easily solved with a minor mechanical installation any homeowner could complete on his or her own. QA/QC took a day off at the factory, I guess. But working great now, and I do recommend this product as a heavy capacity snowblower -- properly assembled.

Yard Machines 31AM2N1B700 21-inch 179cc OHV 4-Cycle Gas Powered Single Stage Snow Thrower With Electric Start (Non-CARB Compliant)

I recently purchased this snowthrower at a competing store for under $400. Living in Wisconsin, I am familiar with numerous snowfalls throughout the winter, including heavy snow, light snow, and getting through the chunks the plows send into the driveway. I have been very pleased with the snow blower so far. It has not clogged on me yet, and does a great job throwing the snow over the piles along the driveway. The chute rotates easily, and as other reviewers mentioned, it does pull itself nicely in lighter snow. Two things I would maybe improve would be to get "beefier" wheels that have better grip, and an easier to read oil dipstick. Otherwise, once you familiarize youself with the settings, it starts easily and gets the job done!

Toro 38172 CCR Powerlite 325 Recoil Single Stage Gas Snowblower

I bought this machine with an electric start. The prong from the electric start come out with the plug and the company would not honor the warranty. They told me that this can happen in cold weather[ I haven't had the need to start it in the warm weather} and the dealer can decide if he wants to cover the warranty. I would never buy another toro product. I had one for 12 years and it was great, but this one is a piece of junk. I agree with the other reviewers that it is hard to start. The company is going down hill and their warranty is a useless piece of paper!
