I live on long island where we get some decent snowfalls and
i was a bit worried about this little guy getting the job done.
Let me tell you, this baby really disposes of snow with no problems. The winter of 2004/2005 is just about over and i gave this machine 5 stars. It easily threw the light fluffy snow at least 20-30 feet.It also handles the heavier snow but loses some distance.Trade the mixing of gas and oil for a good extension cord and off you'll go with no muss or fuss.
P.S. Amazon rocks/good promos/free 3 day shipping-can't beat it.

I can't say enough about this little gem! We've had too many storms to count this winter of 04/05 and this little one keeps plugging along! It's paid for itself 6x over so far and I have a medical condition so I'm not supposed to lift over 5 lbs. This baby does the trick! Living on the corner end of a cul-de-sac, I even do my neighbor's area. I couldn't do without this trusty Turo and my 100ft. electrical cord. If you have someone willing to "help" out by holding the cord, you'd never know you even had it plugged in. This machine is one of the best household investments I've ever made and I purchased this during last year's blizzard.Get more detail about Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025.

Living in New York city, it is a tough job to clear out of a snow storm,
you getyour car snowed in your back yard ,its three to five days wait to get out , unless you have a TORO Electric snow blower .
I am proud to say I bought at Amazon.com this Toro electric snow blower and it does the job it has a powerful bite , it cleared my 65 ft driveway in 1/2 hr
it is reliable and worth the money, I do suggest , buy a 100 ft extention cord rated for 15 amps , see Amazon accesories for blower , it needs the rated amount of amps to perform properly , the advertized 12/3 Cooper outdoor wire gives a good source of reliable power .
Also , if the blade stops spinning with the motor running , take off the right side cover and tighten the nut, its very user friendly to fix.

Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025 Best Quality

Bought this based in part on the reviews on this site. I tried it out this weekend on some two-week-old piles of snow sitting around in the nether regions of our driveway after the last big snowfall . . . the stuff that has congealed and is all crusty to walk over . . . stuff you'd never think about shoveling. This puppy ate it up and spit it out with no problems whatsoever. It did not break through the layer of ice that had formed at the bottom of the snow, but you can't expect miracles. I'd give it a "5" except I think some people would have problems keeping track of the cord. I'll take that over mixing gas and oil and worrying about fouled plugs any day.Get more detail about Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025.

Although I was extrememy sceptical about the ability of an electric snow thrower to perform satisfactorily I am happy to report that this beauty has not been wanting. It throws everything from powder to heavy slush without any problem. It even blew three day old plow-back out of my driveway! Best of all though is its ability to clean the surface completely: it gets right down to the concrete and leaves nothing behind! This unit is lightwieght and easy to manuever and yet has a solid feel that belies its mostly plastic construction. All in all an excellent investment.Get more detail about Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025.

Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025 Top Quality

My wife bought this for me after watching me shovel our 100 foot driveway with just a shovel. I did fine with 6 inches, 8 inches etc. but I guess my wife thought I was going to give myself a heart attack shoveling the 26+ inch snowfall.

Not being from an area frequented by snow, she did not know much about snow blowers. But since she is very smart, she analyzed all the available choices. Unfortunately, it was not stated that a power cord was required for operation, thus I ended up going out and buying one.

As for the blower itself:

Whoever designed the process of attaching the exit scoop should be shot. Sure carridge bolts are smooth on top and will not cause snow exiting to build up around them. However, it also makes it impossible to tighten them down and keep the exit scoop in place! The best thing would have been to have a square hole on each side for the head shank of the bolt to recess into, thus allowing proper tightening.

The rotating arm for the exit scoop does not click into place, thus by the time one finishes using the blower, the arm is dangling from the crossbar.

Where did they get those wheels? Off a toy truck? Get some real lawnmower style wheels with knobby rubber treads!

It does have some power to it. I did some areas where the cotter pins on the old Ariens my father used to have would have sheared off in a second. (Why I will never buy an Ariens)

If the 2005/6 model can correct these problems (and cut the price to under $150) Then I would give it a better rating.Get more detail about Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025.
