First off, make sure you have a good 12-14 gauge 100-150' outdoor extension cord. It doesn't come with one. Other reviews have said that since the machine has some plastic casing, it's not able to dig through ice and such. For the most part I agree. If you have a lot of ice build-up on your driveway, this thrower won't be able to dig through it with the power that the gas monsters have. However, our driveway was covered in about a foot of snow that had mostly frozen.
This little toro tore through all that snow and threw it about 30' onto the neighbor's house. I was amazed at how strong the little machine was. I had to be careful to try not to hit the neighbor's house. It took a little longer to clear the driveway since the thrower isn't very wide, but it was so fun my wife and I took turns makings runs down the driveway and back.
