Order Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025

We ordered this online when there were no snowblowers available all over town after the blizzards in December '06. Took awhile to arrive because the delivery trucks couldn't make it into residential neighborhoods, but once we got it, it was easy to assemble and even easier to use.

The wheels are small, but that hasn't presented much of a problem. It does a great job on fresh powder, not as effective on icier areas, but all in all, totally worth the investment and doesn't take much time. Infinitely better than shoveling by hand for hours!

Purchase Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025

I purchased this in October and just had the first measurable snow fall. This little unit did an excellent job on the driveway and walk in less than half the time and effort of a shovel. I was surprised with the power and the ease of use. There is no messy gasoline. It starts with a push of a button when and where you need it. I am very pleased with this affordable little gem.Get more detail about Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025.

Buy Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025

I bought this on Amazon and after a coupon discount, free shipping and signing up for the CC discount I paid less than $200. I have only used in once on about 5 inches of wet snow and it worked great. Cleared a 2 car driveway and sidewalk in about 20 minutes. It threw the wet snow about 10-12 feet or I could do a "half pass" and it would throw it about 20+ feet. Only downside was having to move the cord out of the way all the time but I'm sure with practice I can improve my path to eliminate this issue. Cheap Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025

With all the snow that has fell in Colorado I decided to purchase a snow thrower. I did not want to spend alot of money on a gas one and decided to go with this electric Torro 1800 because of the good reviews.

It was very simple to put together. The thing is so light and did not look like it can handle much snow. Boy was I wrong. This thing is a beast. I have a 3 car garage and only shoveled for 2 leaving over 4 feet of snow on the other. After putting together the 1800 I decided to clear the 3rd driveway. The 1800 hundred cleared this out without a problem. I had to do it by layers but was very surprised at how far it was throwing wet snow. It was a 50 degree day. I am very happy with this purchase. Well worth the money.Get more detail about Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025.

Buying Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025

Just used this on 5 to 8 inches of wet heavy snow and it worked great! One thing to be careful of on assembly, when attaching the deflector chute the self locking nylon nuts are so strong they can cause the square shouldered carriage bolts to strip out the plastic that is suposed to hold them still. On one side this started happening and I had to remove it and use two wrenches and some silicon spray to pre-loosen up the nylon lock nut before I could assemble that side without further damage.Get more detail about Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025.

Cheapest Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025

I was getting tired of shoveling our long driveway with all the heavy snowfalls we were getting this winter.

When forecasts for the latest blizzard came in right before New Year's Eve, my partner mentioned that he had seen some electric snow blowers earlier in the week at the local big box home improvement store. But when I called the local store and several other branches, I found all the snow blowers were gone (as were the shovels).

But Amazon came through for us; I ordered this unit on a Friday and selected Saturday Prime delivery for $4.99. I was far from confident that the delivery would take place with all the snow we had gotten, but I just shoveled a small path to the door for the delivery person and I had it Saturday morning!

I was also skeptical that an electric unit could handle the quantity of snow we had received. While I needed to do a second pass where there was more than 11" of snow, the unit made all the other areas look pristine after one pass.

This unit has a lot of plastic parts and it might not hold up for heavy use, but for the occasional use that I'm planning I think it will be great. I love the convenience, safety and environmental benefits I get by avoiding a gasoline unit.

One thing to keep in mind when looking for an extension cord is that this unit doesn't require a grounded cord or outlet (i.e., with "third prong"). You will get a lower price and better winter flexibility if you buy a 2-wire outdoor extension cord that excludes the grounding conductor. The unit consumes 12 amps, so you will want to follow the owner's manual recommendation for a 16 gauge extension cord for up to 100 feet; 14 gauge for up to 150 feet.

Finally, from a safety perspective, I highly recommend reading the owners manual, keeping children away from this unit, and unplugging it before clearing the occasional clog from the chute. This can be a dangerous device if not used carefully.Get more detail about Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025.

Discount Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025

Was reluctant to risk buying an electric machine because I don't see anyone else using them. Finally took the plunge. This is my second season and I can't praise this little machine enough. Its fabulous. Even the heavy stuff at the end of the drive gets done because its light enough to handel like a shovel. This machine is for you if you have limited storage space and not much more than 50 feet of driveway. Wish I'd got one years ago. If you work methodically the cord is no problem at all.
