This snow thrower is certainly powerful enough for up to 8 inches of the white stuff but don't count on it if you live in a snowbelt area and regularly get heavy snowfalls. I have a short two car driveway and a small walk to clear and this Toro is great. Being electric, it doesn't need tuneups, fuel or multiple attempts at starting. Very convenient to use. Watch the cord though, it can easily get tangled in the chute.

Very satisfied so far. Got it as a backup to the big beast as they only break down when you use them and you only use them when you need them.
Only used a couple times and quite happy.
Other day had bit of snow followed by hours of drizzle which left a compressed inch or maybe little more of pure sludge/slush in the drive. Didn't bother with the big boy as figured it would mostly roll over it. Didn't consider the toro as it seemed too much to ask until I did maybe 30 square feet with a shovel at about 30-40lbs a shovel full of slush.
Went for the toro and wow! It ate right through it. Sure, it didn't throw it very far and yes, it did bog down near the end of the drive where it was 5 inches deeps with the slush; but, I can hardly complain about that.
It also clogged the chute twice; but, I find that too more than reasonable considering the slop I was feeding it.

I live in Truckee, CA, and after the first snow fall this year I decided I'd had it with shoveling. I read the reviews about this snow thower and decided to try it.

Yes, the wheels are rinky-dink. Toro would probably sell a lot more of these if people in Home Depot didn't see the cheap wheels and construe that the rest of the product was of similar quality. But the wheels pretty much become irrelevant when your using it. You have to push the snow thrower though the snow and I don't think bigger heavier wheels would make any difference - especially when you hit the ice under the snow.

I live in a three story house on a hillside. I have decks in the back that I like to keep clear and I like the fact that I can just pick this thing up and carry it through the house to do the decks and then down to the driveway to clear the berm in front of my garage (I have a plowing service for my driveway). Yesterday, I had about a 2-foot berm and the Toro made it disappear quite easily and I very easily trimmed the edge of my parking pad that the plow didn't get. I had about a foot of snow on my upper deck and it tossed the snow a long way, and relatively easily. I was afraid I'd have to toss the snow onto my lower patio and then have to go down there and retoss the same snow, but I was able to blow the snow straight into the direction I was moving - off the side of the deck. It also DOES get right down to the ground (or in this case, deck).

Another reviewer complained about the extension cord getting stiff and hard to handle, so I bought a 50' 14 gauge cord made especially for cold weather (down to -58 degrees F)and it stays as flexible as a normal cord sitting in the sun in the summertime - works great.

A friend has been shoveling snow off his decks and driveway for years, so I took it over to his house and we made quick work of it. He ordered one the same day. I love my new toy. It saves my back and beats the Hell out of shoveling!

If your looking for a low-maintenance snowthrower that excells in light to moderate snowfalls and can deal with the electric cord, this is an excellent choide. I live in lower Michigan. Some years we get almost no snow but other years there will be numerous snowfalls. This can sit in your garage without a thought given to it and taken out whenever you need it. Plug it in and your ready to go. The day after I got it, we had 6 inches of moist snow and it went through it without a problem. You do have to have a place to plug in the cord and to position it so it is out of the way while your getting rid of the snow. But it is light and easy to maneuver. A great product for someone a bit older or lighter built. No worry about gas or oil or trouble starting it. The wheels are small and light but they are mostly used for backing up and turning around. This can handle a heavy snowfall but if you regularly get heavy wet snows you may wish to look into a bigger gas powered model.

Putting it together wasnt too bad. Took me about 20 minutes and I didnt have a problem. It is easier to have two people asembling it but one person can do it. A flashlight to help to see to align the holes for the bolt and a couple of pliers, one with a needle nose, to tighten the bolt, are helpful. But you can do without these items.

I have been using this snow blower for about one year now. And am very impressed with its performance. This blower is not intended for use in deep heavy snow, but does a great job with snow up to 10 inches. I can clear my 40 foot double drive in about 15 minutes including the sidewalks.
Assembly is a snap, took about 10 minutes out of the box and your ready to go.
I do recommend getting a high quality all weather cord though. The cheap orange ones will be stiff in the cold weather and will cause you nothing but grief. Spend a little extra money here and you will be glad you did.
The great thing about this little guy is you just plug it in and your ready to go, when your done just hang it on the garage wall and its out of the way.

After 3 years of Pennsylvania winters with this snowblower, I thought I'd come back and give some brief feedback. Overall, it's a great product and well worth the purchase. It's holding up well, and operating as well as it did the day I bought it.

I have some slight complaints about the spray nozzel tending to direct light snow way to high in the air, and lack of power for really wet snow (thus 4 stars). It generally works best if you don't let the snow get too thick (beyond 6 inches) before blowing. Clogs happen frequently otherwise.

Overall, I can snowblow my 60' of driveway clear of 6-inches of dry snow in about 15 minutes. No problems to report in 3 years. So, I have to say it's been well worth the money.
